More about Wild with Wheels

We offer safe and supported access to nature for adults and children with disabilities and impairments

Our guided nature walks are currently based at the Kent Heritage Coast and Coastal Paths between Dover, Capel Le Ferne, and Folkestone. We also explore other suitable accessible routes within the Kent Downs National Landscape and the North Downs Way for those with challenging mobility or sensory needs.

Our focus on community engagement

Our project offers free interactive and inclusive walks and nature based experiences to connect with the landscape and heritage of Kent. We advocate for access improvements where previously many wheelchair and mobility scooter users - as well as those with mobility limitations - would struggle.

Out in all weathers

We encourage wheeled and mobility aid users and people with sight impairments to easy access routes around the Kent Downs National Landscape and in its Country Parks if the weather isn't suitable for regular walks.

Wild with Wheels provides professionally led, interactive, and engaging walks - fully inclusive for all disabilities and impairments.

Walk leaders and supporters

Our experienced educators provide engagement to the diverse range of support and communication needs. This enhances knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of the native wildlife plus historical, scientific and cultural interests.

We encourage interacting and connecting with this landscape in a variety of ways, including -

  • using available senses such as touch, sight, scent, and sound
  • creative activities, connecting to nature through audio and visual arts and crafts
  • using imagination, storytelling and local knowledge.
