So, it was another Wet and Foggy winters day. We are so grateful to have shelter and facilities to connect to nature, whilst staying warm and dry.

The theme of the day (being close to Valentine's day) was 'Hearts in Nature'. We studied heart shaped stones, wood, and leaves.

Then, Hannah from Natural Pathways Bushcraft showed us how to make hearts from bendy twigs. We wrapped yarn, jute and twine to make beautiful heart shaped decorations.

One participant from Lithuania, created a twig ode to their flag, she also explained the meaning to us of each colour whilst her family member gave us the interpretation. The yellow in the flag symbolises the sun and prosperity, the green is for the forests, the countryside, liberty, and hope, and the red represents the blood and bravery of those who have died for Lithuania.

The group then created some wonderful nature inspired Valentine cards. And finally we held space for those who might not have a love interest to share a valentine's card with. So, we focused on 'Self love' and shared what that means to us, and what we can do to give ourselves the love we deserve.

It was interesting that we shared the limitations from our disabilities, but we could still make time and space to improve on our self love. It was a lovely session, and fortunately had stopped raining by the time we were packing up and getting ready to leave.

We only have 3 more free Nature Craft sessions for the Spring Season. So please book your space on Eventbrite to join in. And do keep an eye out for hearts, you may be surprised how many there are.
